Job Description: As this is a full-service Resort, participants will be hired as a Resort Worker where participants will have the opportunity perform a variety of jobs and be placed at jobs which best suit their interests and experiences. Nonetheless, 50% of the job will be as a Housekeeper. Housekeeper As a housekeeper, participants are responsible for cleaning (washing, dusting and vacuuming, tidying) guest rooms and property common areas. Job duties include picking up after a guest, preparing fresh linens (doing laundry), making beds, dusting furniture and fixtures, washing floors, vacuuming carpeted areas, emptying trash cans, cleaning windows (usually less frequently), cleaning the bathroom and toilet and keeping the guest rooms stocked with accessories and the bathrooms stocked with supplies. Housekeepers will be using cleaning chemicals. Counter attendant/Cashier Job duties include greeting customers and explaining products and services for sale. Employees inform customers of prices and discounts and special deals. They also are responsible for cleaning and maintaining their work space, as well as presenting items in an appealing manner. Counter attendants also often handle the return and exchange of items and usually have to make sure the money in the cash register equals the amount of transactions at the end of each work shift. Counter attendants must possess excellent customer service skills. They should be energetic, professional, courteous and engaging. They also need to be organized and have good communication skills, capable of accurately relaying product information to customers. Other skills require the ability to handle cash and inventory, excellent English to interact with customers and co-workers, and possibly technical skills to operate computers or other electronics. Participants may earn tips in this position.
