Job Description: As a food counter attendant, participants will be preparing and serving customers’ foods and drinks. Depending on the items served at the counter, the food counter attendant may be responsible for some basic preparation of the food. Participants will take orders from customers and adjust the items based on customers' needs (e.g. making pizzas, omitting items from a sandwich). Duties also involve handling the financial transactions related to the food and drink purchases and delivering orders to the kitchen when applicable. Participants may also be responsible for tracking and handling inventory for the counter. Participants must be able to lift 25 pounds; this may be required when restocking or preparing work space on occasion. As this is a small shop, all staff will assist in overall shop cleanliness. This job requires standing for most of the shift so employees should be in good physical condition to stand for long periods of time. Participants will be using cleaning chemicals.
