Job Description: We are a family owned and operated business that was established in 1996 by Andy and Allison Yoa. Andy is the chef and runs the back of the restaurant. Wife Allison manages the front of the restaurant. We are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and offer catering services as well.There are a lot of J1 students who live and work in Ocean City and a lot of American college students who come to Ocean City on vacation, making this a popular Work and Travel destination. Ocean City is one hour from Philadelphia, three hours from NYC. In addition to living and working near the beach, Ocean City has restaurants, shopping, a boardwalk and amusement attractions for students to explore in their free time!
Prep Cook/ Dishwasher Combo: You will work in one of the positions below - Dishwasher: Performs a variety of entry-level dishwashing tasks. Routinely cleans, washes and stores food and beverage service items, equipment, and the kitchen area. Keeps all kitchen areas, equipment, machines, etc. clean, sanitized and organized during individual shift. Assist all cooks and chefs as necessary. Assist in daily cleaning and sanitation duties. Taking out the trash and replacing bags as needed. Maintain clean and safe work area. Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen and dining room materials. Follow all machine cleaning procedures. Work in designated station set by the Location Chef / Sous Chef. Assist all cooks in daily preparation of menu items. Report to work at designated time in clean, neat and approved uniform. May periodically train new employees or staff from other departments. Complies with all health and safety codes in handling and storage of all food products and kitchen equipment. Varied hours; both AM and PM are required. Will work with various soaps and cleaning chemicals. Gloves, aprons and safety materials are provided. You will also be asked to help water plants in the restaurant. Prep Cook: •Cooking or preparing food items according to procedures or recipes. •Preparing items quickly and accurately ensuring no waste and in accordance with production and portion requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment. •Maintaining and cleaning all Food Service areas according to all county, state, and federal health codes and sanitation procedures including preparation tables, equipment, floors, supply areas, refrigerators, and coolers. •Washing dirty dishes and equipment. •Ensuring that cooking grease is rotated properly. •Maintaining all necessary food reporting and labeling to ensure product quality. •At the beginning of the day, responsible for getting food preparation areas stocked and set-up. •At the end of the day, responsible for cleaning up food preparation areas and properly storing unused food items. •Keeping supervisor/manager informed of all supply, food, and product inventory when necessary. •Keeping supervisor/manager informed of situations relating to facility operation, patron complaints or concerns, accidents, emergency situations, damages, and potential safety hazards. •Attending departmental and team meetings as well as participating in all additional training courses. •Performing all duties in a safe manner. Everyone will be expected to help with thorough cleaning before, during and after regular job duties throughout the day.
